It’s also one of eight Las Vegas Strip properties to still have an old-style buffet, the Buffet at Luxor. We started off our vacation with a few days at Vdara before our friends arrived, but that was a different price point so a different experience. Luxor is known for its hotel towers and pyramid rooms with slanted windows. The location is good as you can walk through the mall dividing Luxor from Mandalay Bay, and then enjoy what Mandalay has to offer as well. Taking a minimalist approach to design, this clutter-free environment features two queen beds, a 50 flat screen TV, multiple charging and power outlets, and a multi-purpose element that doubles as wardrobe, storage, work surface and media center. ![]() ![]() The showers are large, as well as the bathroom counter. This stylishly functional room is our most efficient footprint yet. But for the price we pay per night, we get a nice large room, access to several onsite Starbucks, a nice and seemingly smoke-free casino (they have good filtration), good food/ restaurant options, etc. this isn't the Bellagio, so don't expect the fancy schmancy stuff. Considering the amount of hotels available on the strip, and the fact that many are new and fancy and luxorious, I like to rate the Luxor as a 4 star as you get a lot for what you pay. ![]() We spend two days in Vegas every year after two days in Laughlin, and for the past few years we have chosen Luxor as our accomodation.
